Correct part # for Palm Valve for generator compartment -
Shamu406 - 06-16-2024
Can anyone help with the correct part number for the palm valve that opens the air operated generator compartment on a 1996 Newell?
I read another post regarding it showing 3, but just wondering if anyone has had the experience of changing out the right one the first time.
Here is a pic of mine...
Thanks!

If I remember correctly that model is discontinued. I ordered a Norgren k71DAOO KCO KB1 from ebay. It was exact replacement. It appears they are no longer available from that source. Check item number 393042132943 on ebay. Look up Norgrens web-site for the updated part number. The model info should be on the back side of the valve visible after you remove it. I believe an Airzoe model 4R210-08 will work. It is smaller but functions the same. Available on Amazon

I found on Ebay, very close similar part numbers but not exact, not sure if they are correct?
I found - K71DAOO-KS1-KBO (OPEN BOX) - 110.00
And - K71DAOO-KCO-KBO - (USED) - 75.00

Is that valve rebuildable? Might be easier/faster to rebuild than find a new one/replacement???

I rebuilt my original valve. It did not last.

This page may help you determine suitability. The valves are modular. The model designation denoted the modules combined for the end product. ie: KBO indicates palm button. Have you determined the exact model number that your current valve is?

I replaced mine with a valve from Amazon, I tried to rebuild the original but it still leaked air.

Richard, That one appears smaller that mine? Not sure if it is a direct bolt in unit? Also, did you use a filter before it? Thanks! John

As said in Cool Hank Luke, “what we have here is a failure to communicate”.
You are asking for a direct replacement. The valve you are replacing is a common item in the pneumatic world, and the guys have been giving you different options for replacing the valve.
You may not find a direct replacement for a 25 yr old part. But there are many options available to you that function in exactly the same way.
