I got all this information from Ray Johnson, former owner of Boomer.
Seems that the water line attachment fittings on the Headhunter pump are prone to cracking. Especially if someone gorillas them trying to stop a leak. Overtightening does not help, since it is an O ring that seals, not the threads.
But this is such a problem that Newell has had some machined from aluminum.
Contact Newell for more info. Just passing along as public service announcement.
And oh yeah, we have to get Ray back into a Newell. He fits right in with the rest of the merry band.

Thanks for posting this Richard. Folks need to know about the great aluminum replacement part that is available from Newell. This part was replaced twice in one year. Plastic does have its limits. I really enjoyed my visit with you while passing thru our Great Smoky Mountains and my hometown of Sevierville TN. Looking forward to another Newell in our future someday.

What’s the thread type and the size on each end?
