Aqua-Hot in heater mode

1 yes you should be, unless the electric elements a toast.
2 yes put them on heat and it should be right
3 not that i can think of
4 that sounds like possibly a cube relay issue on the aqua hot itself

Have you checked the switches on the main panel above the microwave to make sure they are in the right position?
One should say something like heat on and A/C off. Another one should say diesel Aqua hot. Have you tried running it on just the diesel side to make sure it works?
For what its worth i just completely rebuilt and rewired mine myself, I'm sure Trainer will chime in, but this piece of equipment isn't that complex, its just a boiler like we have in a house with 3 ways to heat the liquid instead of 1.

1.  The electric element works. 
2.  The thermostats seem pretty junky.  
3.  Ok. The thermostats don’t seem to work on heat or AC.  After a while the mode switches to “actual”
4.  Is there a way to manually turn on the pumps??  I read there being a check valve in there somewhere 

i get a grip on the fundamentals.  Boiler that heats then pumps for 3 zones. I have the predecessor in my wanderlodge which is primus

1. Yes you should have power to the 120v element which will heat the aqua hot but not enough to heat the coach for very long.
2. I am not sure of this question, are you referring to the switch above the microwave that you switch to have your AC work or heat the aqua hot? Your coach has AC units that draw a lot of current, it also has a aqua hot that has 2 heating elements and it draws a lot of current (Amps) one is 120vac and when the breaker is turned on its working, then you have another heating element which is 240vac and between the two they draw a lot of current so Newell put that switch in so if your going to heat your coach with aqua hot then you will not be needing AC so its either heating the coach or cooling the coach with AC not the two at the same time. 
3. No I don't think this has anything to do with heating function of aqua hot.
4. We had individual thermostats for different areas and still have one in the bathroom and closet but hopefully someone will chime in on the HVAC thermostat.

Really I think my problem is whatever causes the aqua hot pumps to run for the front and rear zones isn't telling the pumps to turn on.  Are they the thermostats that run the air conditioning as well??

The aqua hot unit itself is on and hot.

Yes they are the same thermostats. Remove the tstats from the wall. Red is 12v positive. White is signal to turn on AH zone. Apply 12v to white wire to simulate tstat ON

Right above the pumps is the check valve. Give them a decent whack with the back of a screwdriver and that should free them up. Can you tell if the AH is actually heating? Are any of the pipes getting hot at the unit itself?

It must be heating because I do get hot water out of the faucet.  I ran it on the diesel side for about a half hour last night and none of the pipes really got that hot though.

After doing what Richard recommended you should be able to hear or feel the pumps running if there is no heat coming from the top of the pump going to the lines do what Carl recommended which was rap the check valve if that doesn't work do what Rudy recommends which is apply 10 lb of pressure to the top of the aqua Hot tank via the radiator cap that will make sure that the pumps are primed. You can buy a radiator test kit from harbor freight that has a hand operated pump with a gauge so you'll be able to put 10 lb of pressure on the tank.

I see the red 12 volt + but no white wire on either thermostat.
