I have read many threads about air bags for a 96. The number1r11 066 is from what im finding obsolete or hard to find. I am looking for a locally sourced alternative. I read somewhere about using a 1r12? Ive also seen reference to to different inlet sizes but i haven't found availability for any! If anyone has CURRENT numbers or sources for all the bags on a 96 please list them. Id really appreciate it.

I have been going through air bag replacement on my drive axle . The original Firestone part also crosses to the 1R11-066 .
I checked with Newell , they have the bags on the shelf at $950 each . Out of the question for me .
The Goodyear / Infinity catalog is available online as a searchable pdf . A valuable tool , another great referral from Richard .
I ended up getting air bags from Fleet Pride .
P/N HDV9422 , just under $100 each .
These are a cross from the 1R11-028 .
The top stud spacing is the same , with one 3/4 instead of 1/2 " . The larger stud is also the air Inlet with female 1/4 pipe thread .
The base (piston) is composite , and has two 1/2 " studs instead of original single stud .
On mine I needed to stay with the single hole at the bottom , so I cut the two studs off flush and installed a stud in place of the bolt that came in the bag .
Per Richard's advice I bypassed the ping tanks , plumbed the 3/8 tubing direct from the valves .
I have only done a 30 mile shake down , but all is good so far .

As far as I know the fronts are the same . The original Ridewell blue print reflects that , and they appear to be the same .

Thank you, Chris for that valuable information. The fronts are the same on 316. My tag axle bags are different. (smaller)

My coach doesn't have a tag axle , so I can't speak to that .
I should mention that while the HDV bags I bought look good and seem well made , Fleet Pride does offer more expensive ones . Not in the region of what Newell is asking though !
If your coach has the large JIC 16 hoses and fittings , cut them off as mentioned in other posts . I used a Hercules 20volt reciprocating saw . It's compact size helps in the tight quarters . Also used the HF 22 ton jack stands under the link stanchions . Cribbed in other areas as well.

I just remembered. If you go to my thread titled “air bags for 316” I detailed everything that was done on the rear axles including the numbers and prices for the bags on the drive and tag axles.
