2001, 3 HWH slides, front salon slide won't retract
#1

After talking to Newell and Richard last week, we opened the connector to the front slide retract solenoid. When pressing the slide room switch, I only got .143 volts. Jerermy ordered four solenoids that appeared original (they had the 1/4 inch nut to bleed them) , the others were the latest paddle version. There are three types with some sub variations  ( different diameters)but all have either a T handle, a 1/4 " nut, or the paddles. The front room extend and retract were on bottom closest to the pump and the two solenoids above had to be removed to access them. These were the ones we replaced. After the install the room didn't retract. We opened the connector again and jumped it with 12v (white is +, black is -). Once I got the pump to come on I hooked the 12v to the white wire and the room came back in.

The rear rooms work fine but the pump doesn't stop when you let off the switch , since it was still on I was able to jump the solenoid. The front room switch will turn the pump on but is intermittent and the yellow light is also intermitent.

The control unit isn't sending 12v to the solenoid, not sure yet about the micro switches at the pin locks but the pins were not locked, The lights on the unit don't all work.

Steve,
My floor wouldn't raise up after the salon slide went out. I worked with a tech at HWH via phone and emails. I was set to go to HWH for repair when my salon seal rolled out when I brought the slide in. I went to Newell to get that and other stuff repaired instead.
What I ended up doing was put a rocker switch w/fuse between 12 volts and the FLOOR UP solenoid. After the slide goes out I toggle the switch and the floor comes up with the EXTEND button. Then I go back out and turn that switch off.
Eventually I'll put rocker switches in the cabinet and be able to do this all manually from inside.
When you say "The lights on the unit don't all work" do you mean the status box in the L1 bay? My status lights all work but something wasn't telling the main control board to activate the up solenoid.

Progress!

Slides aren’t moving because solenoids aren’t getting voltage to open them.

So, they aren’t getting voltage because the HWH brain doesn’t think they should meaning the switches aren’t made to satisfy the control logic. Or, the circuit for the retract is inop. Did you look for the retract solenoid fuse? You have to take two screws out of the circuit board and pivot it out to see the fuses.

There will be two light on each board for each operation. One light(yellow I think) lights up when the brain is sending a signal to the circuit to operate. The second light (red) lights when the relay is sending power to the solenoid. These are not the lights in the indicator box, these lights are on the board itself.
