ISX15 CM2250 NOx Sensor Code 3216 FMI 10
#1

Lucky me, 3rd day of a 4 month journey and have the inlet NOx sensor code.  It is a code that will derate the engine 25% after one hour, 40% after 5 hours and then 5MPH eventually..  I deleted the code which gives a little time, I don't want to stop hourly to delete it.  Hopefully Farmington, NM Cummins has the NOx sensor, we are in Gallup tonight on the way to Durango, CO for the weekend.

I unplugged the NOx sensor, sprayed the connections with electronic cleaner. Started the day in traffic, the Hot Exhaust light illuminated at one light. It extinguished as soon as I started moving. The computer had the code but I think it has to happen 2 or 3 times before the check engine light illuminates.

I ordered the Inlet NOx Sensor, should arrive tomorrow. Cummins is proud of them at One Newell Unit. Fingers crossed! Holiday weekends seem to be when things happen.

No bargains out there these days.  $1,000 is almost hard to believe, but what choice do we have?  Let us know how the replacement goes.  I'm sure you'll have it swapped out in no time.

NOx Sensor installed, parked regen complete, code deleted, on the road Tuesday NW bound. Lucky rabbits foot from the unlucky rabbit nearby.

That took me a while, thanks to the reply after...

One Newell Unit = $1,000

That is priceless!  No...wait...no it's not, but that's really funny!

Jim,

Nice job with the fix.

Are you using Cummins Insite?  If so, did you have to purchase through a dealer for licensing?

I'm amazed how those components take on all that heat.

I'm using a Chinesium knockoff from ebay on a dedicated computer.
