Newell Air Systems
#1

Hi, I am Woody Woodward, and a new (Nov 2023) owner #1260 2009. Learning curve from 5 previous coaches is large but enjoyable.
I have been working on my air systems as I know that I have some leaks as the 120 V compressors run every 5 - 10 minutes with no coach movement.
I am wondering if there is an article, drawing, photos, or anything that describes the total air system. I have read articles and watched videos to help with my journey. But I am unaware of the terms fellow owners use (ppt values, pressure switches and so on) and with out an overview of the systems or 2 or 3 subsets of the system it is difficult to know where to start.
Some guidance would be appreciated.

Jim, Thank you very much. That is what I have been looking for. A great way to begin and learn. Great job and big help.

If your coach is plumbed similar to mine it has a separator valve in the outside rear right compartment with a bunch of pneumatics in it. If you close that valve it isolates the house from the chassis. Then you can watch the pressure gauge in that compartment as well as the gauge in the compressor compartment to see the air leakage in either system. The gauge in the air compressor compartment will show chassis leakage, the gauge in the rear right compartment shows leakage in the house. In my diagram I called that valve "Separator Ball Valve In Rear Compartment"

Woody, I’ve produced several videos on this topic which should help you I your quest to seek and destroy leaks.

Here’s my latest:

Thank you Steve, I have seen one of your videos and found it very useful. I will look at the second one.
