Slide pin on PS bedroom slide is spraying hyd oil onto slide top when any of the slides are activated.  It eventually stops after setting for a while.  I assume once the pump stops running and pressure equalizes in the system is why it stops..  It looks like there are two allen-head bolts..one on each side of the pin block.  i would like to check the tightness but am having trouble getting the valance off to get to them...any suggestions?  Also, if I can't get the valance off, can I de-energize the hyd solenoid and will that keep pressure off the pin?

Bring the room in. Look to make sure the “hook” that moves the ceiling fan/light with the room is not impeding removal. Bang straight up on the valence. It may take some force to pop it loose. It is a friction fit.

When you get the valence off, remove the strip of dust brush. You will see there are 4 Allen head bolts holding the slide pin. If you don’t remove the brush strip, the upper bolts are hidden.

And I don’t know about the disabling of the solenoid.

Thank you Richard.  If I move the slide in, I cannot reach the slide pin over the top of the slide....am i missing something?  Also, I cannot find Steve Denton's post on the slide pin hydraulics.  what is is his user name so I can search for it?  The valance appears to have some screws holding it in similar to the front PS slide.

Brandi and Chris,

Here are some thoughts, all of which could be wrong as all Newells are different.
When I would remove that valence I would just bring the slide in about half way. Then, as Richard said, push up on each end until it was free. No fasteners by the time I had my coach in my possession.
I think then you could move it outward letting you get closer to the pins. But, and I hope I am wrong, I think it will still spew fluid even when unplugged. Russ

Sorry, I should have been more explicit. Move the room in to remove the valence. Move the room out to access the pins. The valence will not slide up for removal with the room out.

If you need the orings give a pm. I have alot of them due to I had to rebuild all of mine just a few months ago and had to buy a package of 25 for each o ring. . I would be happy to send you some if needed

Its a kinda a easy job. Hardest part is the lower oring, getting the snap ring off.
