Found it on Craigslist just a few hours ago. Seller is asking $20,000. If anyone wants a project, it could be worth taking some time to look closely at this one

Classic 1983 Newell Coach for sale. This RV is beast! 903 Cummins diesel; Perkins diesel generator make this RV full of power. Retro classic can be lived in full time or vacation with the family. Coach has corian countertops; full shower; queen bed; couch fold out; dining table folds out to single. Includes tow bar and brake buddy with sale. Needs TLC but has lots of potential.

675 hp would make a rather impressive classic.

"The first V903 crankshaft was laid at the Cummins Engine Plant (CEP) in Columbus, Indiana (USA), late in 1967, and since then the engine has progressed from 280 horsepower (hp) for truck use to its current peak output of 675 hp for military equipment." The V903 is an eight-cylinder 'V' configuration with a 903 cubic inch (14.8-litre) displacement.

I would be first in line to have one put in my bus! Too bad they got a bad rap. I think like anything else mechanical, you need to watch its limitations both temperature and Rev speed. Now I wonder if someone can put one in for me for under 60k complete? Hmmm.....

Simon, I'm sure it could be done, but if I was you I'd be looking at picking up a donor bus with the Detroit Series 60 for your transplant. The turbo on the higher horsepower 903's would require moving the rear radiator to the side.

Realistically, I wouldn't want to mess with what I have. If it gave up the ghost, I would find someone willing to trade cash for a swap. My days of welding and fabricating are slowly fading into the sunset. Of course, I would be there to help just not take the lead. When I moved from NY 21 years ago, all my good friends and connections in that department went away.
