One side of my family would like to have a gathering in the Ozarks this summer because it is equal distance for a number of us to travel to. I will be the only one in an RV while everyone else will be needing to rent cabins or houses. So I thought I might poll all of you for recommendations on where to stay in an RV in this area and nail that down first and then look for rental homes/cabins nearby. None of us have ever been to this area so we are open to suggestions. Thanks

Todd,
If you want to come the 110 miles south from Lake of the Ozarks to Table Rock Lake we can provide many options of rv parks, lake rentals, hotels, restaurants & entertainment. I held a group get together at Roaring River State Park two years ago for a group that needed both rv parking & rental rooms. Worked out great!

Steve if you have places you would recommend to us in the Table Rock area that would be great. I will send them to my family that is planning this rebellion. I will let you know if and when we will be down that direction.

Todd,
Roaring River State Park has RV park, cabins for rent and hotel all within walking distance from each other.

Branson has many rv parks, motels and hotels in all price ranges. Town has many restaurants, shopping and is known for its many live entertainment theaters.
If you're looking for an upscale resort there is Big Cedar Lodge. Has cabins or rooms in the lodge. Restaurants on site.

If either you or the person planning the reunion can email me with your specific wants I can point you in the right direction.

Todd,
I have one full hookup site and two water & electric sites that you are welcome to use at the farm.
Another place to consider is Eureka Springs, Arkansas, which is just 15 miles from me. A historical location where you can stay in anything from a treehouse, to cabins, to a 1880s hotel to a Victorian mansion. Lots of restaurants and shopping. They also have a very nice rv park.

Branson is very family oriented with many things for children as well as adults. Miniature golf, go-carts, arcades, or Silver Dollar City, which is a fun amusement park! When Tom was here his daughter took her son to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede which is a lunch/dinner horse show. A great way to see Branson is on the "Ducks" which even goes out into the lake. Or take a lunch or dinner cruise on the Branson Belle which includes a variety show on the old paddle-boat.

There are many Corp of Engineer rv parks all around the lake where you could stay on a site within a few feet of the Table Rock Lake. Many have group pavilions for get togethers, boat launches and swimming areas.

Todd, I'd also second the Branson/Table Rock area over Lake of the Ozarks. Lots more family-oriented stuff to see and do, and you can have plenty of places to get the whole group together for a meal and catching up on who is doing what. Acorn Acres is a nice little commercial campground in Branson, not too far from Silver Dollar City, that has some cabins for rent and a community room that you could use. The Airstream group uses Acorn Acres each year for their rally.
