I'm not a Newell owner yet, but keep gravitating towards them.  My wife is from Chelsea, OK, which is about 50 miles SW of Miami so it would be disloyal of her to purchase one made elsewhere.  At least that is what I keep telling her.  We are in OK pretty frequently and would like to make a run down to Miami to visit their shop.

Our preferences lean more towards a mid-entry coach around 40ft in length but I do like the bath and half floorplan as well. Newell has a good looking 2011 model (1415) that is the mid-entry and bath and 1/2 but a little longer than we prefer.  MOT has a 2005 40 footer as well but would need some remodeling.  All about finding the right floor plan.

Glad I found this site that is specific to Newell.  Definitely has helped me wade through a lot of valuable information.

Mike, PM me the year range you are looking at and I can give you most of the Newell coaches that are less than say 42'6". I have that information going back to 1997. The selection of the shorter coaches is slim since there have only been about 23 Newells built since 1997 that are less than 45'. If you want to be under 41' that is very easy: 2015 #1505 39'6", 2013 #1471 40'6", 2005 #724 and 748 both 40'6", 2002 #616 40'6" and 1998 #496 39'3". That's all I am aware of.

Excellent. Appreciate the info. A lot of things to like on #748. ZF suspension, CAT C13 engine. It's not a mid entry, only a single bath and way too many mirrors than any person needs (don't need to see that much of myself) but good on to start with.

Don't know that I have seen a Newell that short with a bath and a half. That would mean giving up a washer/dryer and closet space. When you drop 5' in length, something is going to have to give. For traveling, I prefer the front entry, when parked, I prefer the mid-entry.

You also give up storage space with that 5’ lost... I would love to have a 42’ or less but value my bay storage too much... now if I had a trailer that would be a completely different story...

I still prefer the mid-entry for both traveling and parked due to it being very quiet going down the road (no door noise) - I’ve had both and like the mid-entry much better but it’s all personal preference. Go drive a couple coaches and see which you like best - just remember these are older coaches so may need some suspension work to get right (not much generally)...

I understand it is all about compromise. Wife is intimidated by the longer coach. If she had her way, we’d be buying a Class C. As you all noted, the 40ft Newell I’ve seen all are single bath. I like the mid-entry with the bath right off the entry.

I can build her confidence driving the larger coach but sure can’t add a 1/2 bath to a shorter one.

There really is no difference once the coach is on the highway - My wife has driven all of our coaches but she doesn’t like to drive at night... or in the rain, or in traffic, or in construction... so now she drives for about 30 minutes per 12 hour trip lol (it’s really not that bad but I give her a hard time about it)...
