Overhead console door strut spring shock
#1

Anyone know the part number or cross-reference for the small (I think they are 90 lbs) springs that hold up the upper overhead console doors across the front of the coach?  The number I have is from Austin Hardware (1-800-821-3520) AVSE400V-PS90 30 0974
I’ll call them if I have to but was hoping to get it from Amazon...
Length extended: 11.5”
length collapsed: approx. 7.5” (not sure where the collapsed measurement is taken)
Length of stroke: approx. 4.75”
I think from the numbers that this is a 90 lbs spring... or PS90 may refer to the end pieces...
Orr and Orr had the following which is close: https://truck-hardware.orrorr.com/item/g.../h-9501-90

This is a great idea: To figure out how much lifting strength you need for a strut spring shock, place a rod/firm stick at the point of lifting, with a scale under it. The amount of weight pushing down, at the mounting point, is how much lifting strength you need.

these are the ones i put on my 99 a few months ago and they work perfectly.  having a hard time understanding why you would have a 90lb strut on a small overhead door.

also a picture of the overhead console doors in mine     it took two for each door.  and they work fine

Time to revisit this thread Smile

I have two small doors on the sides of the TV that have two tiny gas struts apiece. I am missing one from each side.

I have partial numbers from them and was hoping someone had a part number and a source for the correct ones.

See pictures below..

#427 uses a Suspa C16-18816 strut, 40 lbs and 12" long fully extended. Modern Suspa replacement number is C16-11028

Those look like they are for a different application. Mine are TINY two per lift door on either side of the TV one.

Thanks

Yea, that's the same location/application for those I listed. Another example of no two Newells being alike I guess even though the coaches are only a few builds apart.

New lift struts arrived and installed. No more concussions!
