Dishnetwork Local channels or Distant Networks?
#11

WE followed one of Tom's early posts about getting in indoor\outdoor HDTV antenna to pick up over the air channels (works great) and then someone pointed out to me that our old analog antenna that you wind up (ours is in the roof inside the middle of the bus), that it picks up the local channels and the tv tuners pick up right up and geee it works. So we use the new MotoSat for Direct TV and the wind up for local channels. I am also checking into changing the top of this antenna to pick up even more....still learning....

Yes, we're in Quincy, FL for the night about 20 miles west of Tallahassee. Put up the old TV antenna and got locals with no problem. Sat. works great even though we are outside of our "service area" so don't get our locals. Have to call Dish this morning to move that. Our Millenicom mifi works great. Cindy enjoyed having internet on the drive yesterday.
We'll probably cancel our locals and go with the east and west networks.
Matt, there ain't enough good stuff on tv to worry about HD! We only watch a few shows.

"Matt, there ain't enough good stuff on tv to worry about HD! We only watch a few shows.".....Yep.....BUT, HD is nice when watching sports....that's about the only time I miss it.

Clarke,
Wyn and I got the Dishnet system back in 2004, we got a 322 receiver and a dual LNB (119 & 110). We got both East and West coast locals. With the 322 receiver Wyn can watch what she wants on one TV, and I can watch what I want on the other. We don't have the TVo, but if we miss a show on one coast we can watch it in an hour or so from the other coast. Since we have been "full-timing" for over 10 years that has served us pretty well.

We switched from Dish locals to the east/west coast feeds through All American Direct and find for us that works better than getting the locals switched each time we move.
And we put up the antenna whenever we're close enough to get the locals.
