Had the bearings replaced on the number 3 slide yesterday at newell.. learned a lot.. might be something I tackle on my own next time..

paul, marc has valid slides that have bearings. yours and mine with the hwh slides do not....

We do have quite a collection of pads ( nylon maybe ) that our slides ride on. These can breakup and become loose and punch a hole in a slide seal. Please don't ask me how I might know that. Pads are available from HWH.

aren't they just the ptfe white food grade teflon plastic? i bought some and made the glides for my bed.

Aye! I keep forgetting about those Valids on later models. When did those come into play? Always curious about the other systems as well though, too.

First Newell with Valid Slides was #645, then #650 on.

There was some rust on the rails. I window above it.. probably hadn't been changed in 14 years
