Hello all Newell lovers.
We made it to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington with a minimum of problems. My NEW cruise control DID NOT work (see thread on that experience in the drivetrain section) and when we arrived to the park the DC electrics would not work in the front of the coach. However, I pulled the fuses from house side of the DC electrics, cleaned them and reinstalled and presto! were working again. Dirty connections are pretty common with 45 year old vehicles.
Towing the KIA on the car hauler does seem to be at the limit of what I'd want to tow with her. She does pull it but I do notice a difference compared to when we towed the little Honda with a dolly. My mileage too has suffered going from 12mpg when empty to 10-11 with the Honda/Dolly combo to 9mpg with the car hauler and Kia. Looking forward to the 2000lb Rover with all 4 wheels on the ground......maybe next year!
We always get lots of attention and this trip was no different, we even had a Prevost driver stop by to have a look. Hopefully we'll have the cruise control working shortly.
In the mean time I've included a couple pictures of the coach in Kentucky and the newly chromed grill.
Enjoy.
