Glad you are enjoying your Newell. Still fairly hot in Texas. With the exception of five nights in the mid 50's, the low at my house has been in the mid-60's to low 70's throughout the month of October. I would welcome some night cooling.

Bruce and Sue.

A beautiful coach. I have a question regarding your genset. I see you have a louvered door on the right cabinet by the front tire, where I have a a generator cooling blower.
. My generator is a 12 kw Perkins diesel. Do you have a cooling blower in that cabinet also? My genset overheats if the door is left open, and I am wondering how your generator performs, or if our coaches a very different. I am sure mine would heat up if I had louvers there.

BTW, the classic Newells are amazing in cold weather. The insulation is amazing, but the again all I can compare it to is an old Winnebago. Smile

Hope to see more pictures of your coach

Guy, my 86 is the same as Bruce and Sue's, the vent is necessary to get air in to the blower motor. Mine is sealed between the side compartment and the generator bay so all the air goes into the generator bay.

Bruce and Sue, nice to see you getting use out of your really nice looking Newell classic!

Guy are you talking about the louvered door to the blower left open, or the gennie tray opened?

On mine, the blower door,( passenger side between front bumper and front wheel) is sealed. If I introduce air by leaving it open, the gennie overheats.
Mine sucks air from a duct from bottom of the coach to the blower motor. Interesting design changes from year to year.

Guy from your description it sounds like the blower is running in the opposite direction than most of the later Newells. In my 93 and 98 the blower sucked air from the front side compartment through the louvers into the generator compartment, through the radiator then exited through a duct below the radiator. I wonder if it was designed that way or a previous owner hooked it up backwards for some unknown reason?

Yes just what everyone is saying . And. My gen runs awesome . We have ran it for whatever amounts we have needed and it has ran awesome . I have a kabota in my other coach which also runs awesome but much louder than this one . I'm so glad for the blower for fresh ventilation that is where the noise is on kabota!

I don't think Clarke has louvers on the blower door of his 82, but for all I know, perhaps there is no blower in there on his? I know he does have a propane Generator, not that it make a differene...

I do not have a blower for the generator......I have a belt driven fan that runs continuously when the generator is running.
