The Black Hills has tons of people who come and drive all of the old logging roads on ATV's. They use GPS and go all over the place. It has grown so much in the last probably 10 years that they have talked about putting more regulations around it. ATV'S can be driven on our streets as well in SD so we see lots of them around. I can see what my Brother-in-law knows about trail maps and such.

Ron, I'd be honored to ride shotgun if it's still empty in June!

I will bring extra gear and would be glad for you to join me and the other atv's in exploring the outback of S/D At my age the rzr's are a lost less tiring then the bikes I use to ride. Steve M will be there and I sure we will be able to accommodate all that would like to try the experience. I hope to be in the Phoenix F/MD and Yuma S/W area the middle of Jan to 1st of March. Maybe I can get Tom to go around the Fort McDowell area. If I can help anyone on the pro and con of ATVing, Trailering, Hauling or anything else Just ask. I started with dirt bike back in the early 70's and have always had different off road toys since that time. I have carried at least 2 motorcycles with me for the last 12 years.

I found this link for information on trails. If you follow it you will find information on the rules and eventually maps as well. Before we get there I will check and see what the locals do because I think they all use GPS to be sure they are on the correct trails. In the winter the entire Mickelson bike trail is used for snowmobiling which is quite spectacular but when we are there it is strictly for bikes.
