Aircharge cooler for 60 series

Morning

Because the new air rad uses a honeycomb cooler design vs a hollow tube and fin with seals, it is extremely rigid, it is designed to fit as a replacement drop in. What I did learn is each coach is different in bolt hole location, that is the only trick, think of it as a AMG solution to a great coach ... lol I will go and take some pics. It takes 4 weeks to build and would cost about $5500, cheap when you realize you can be stuck somewhere for weeks waiting for new ones from Europe, I spoke to Newell's supplier and learned the supplier is Van Hool. Spoke to them in Europe and discovered they have them built in Romania, spoke to them and they knew they had a problem but Van Hool would not let them fix the problem of stress fractures as they saw that as a great source of replacement revenue, so I refused to put a air rad back in knowing it was going to fail sometime again...... as I do search and rescue for a hobby and use the newell as an Incident Command center when on an FEMA/USAF Aux mssion

For what it worth, I have just got through replacing the RAD & CAC in my 04. I had done the same replacements in my 96 of both items. All were purchase from Atlas Rad in Texas and I was please with both jobs. I diffidently would not repair or re-core either. On the 96 I did it my self and on the 04 I had a locally repair shop do the exchange for about 1K labor. Newell use 2 different RAD from 95 through 04 that I am know of

I did investigate the CAC out of Canada which was a Duralite but they could not furnish the RAD and i wanted both from the same manufactor. I know that Atlas furnish CAC & RAD to Newell through at least 04  with Detroit's.
It's a match for my CAC cooler.  Part # is DHT NEW510A.  Give Clarke Power that part number and they can price you on it.  This was for the 04 which is taller than the one for the 96
Thanks,
Matt

Hello Ron,

Just to make sure, you are saying that the 312320 Rad/Cac is the correct unit for your Newell Coach, correct? We sent that drawing to you back in August and I want to make sure that is the drawing you are referring to when you said you are ready to place the order. If this is the correct Rad/CAC, we pulled up the quote dated 8/29/2014 for the Rad/CAC assembly #312320. The price is $3308. The lead-time is 4-6 weeks. Since this is not a stock item, we require a pre-production 50% deposit, by check or credit card, of $1654.00.
