I simply bought the 1/2 wide stick on foam at the local Lowes. I stuck it on top of the existing rubber. I'll try to get a pic today.

For the square hole for the cylinder, for the time being I have made a plug of the acoustic foam, covered it with aluminum tape, and stuffed it in the hole. If I like the results, I will fabricate a bracket to hold it, so that it moves in and out with the door. Right now, it's a totally manual setup.
