Can we talk maintenance cost?

Thanks guys,

Hi Larry, I understand about the piece of mind with the warantee directly from Newell buts thats $12,000.00 a year, that's a lot of bucks!

Michael Said: "Obviously not everyone who buys a new Newell trades a used Newell in"

So Michael, that's to say that Newell will take a Newell in trade? That never even accured to me! Will other coach manufacturers take one of their coaches in on trade or is that unique to Newell?

Harry

I would think that most dealers that take trades of other makes will also take Newells. The difficulty with Newells is that there is no Blue Book value since they are limited production and so individualized. That makes it harder for a dealer who doesn't know Newells to determine a reasonable trade in value for one.

Many manufacturers don't sell direct, only through authorized dealers.

Newell will take some High End coaches in trade besides Newell, often they wholesale them along to buyers (Dealers) in the wait..such as MOT and others.. They seem to keep the cream (makes sense) occasionally you will see one on their site but not often...

I have seen a few used Prevost conversions for sale on Newells site over the past 7 years that were trade-ins.

OK guys thanks,

I new a dealer will take in a trade, I just didn't know a manufacturer like Newell would. Its actually a good idea and I can see how it would make for any easier customer/manufacturer deal.

The customer doesn't have to be concerned about selling their coach and that could be a good thing for sure.

Thanks guys,

Harry

Sounds close to my 25-30k reserve fund! Just depends on who's pocket it's in, Carl's or yours. If you keep it in your pocket, it's still there after 2 years assuming no major hits in 1st 2 years. In our 1st 2 years we had I think, 5K on new blower right away & +/-4k on radiator. Nothing else major until 4 yrs out to major overhaul on engine.

Harry,

My coach is a 2003 quad slide and I bought it in 2011 (I think).

What happened to the engine and how many miles were on it at the time? And what year is your Newell?

Hi Bill, you’ve had the coach for 3 going on 4 years, has it met your exceptions in maintenance and overall quality?

I am soooo happy I stated this thread, I have really learned from you guys. I’ve also gotten to know you better so its been a real win-win for me!

Harry

But Harry if you don't buy a Newell soon we'll have to put you on double secret probation........
