Arrived at the National Forest dispersed camping area just east of Cottonwood, AZ Thursday (3/27) and love the spot. The views are long. Visited Jerome today.....an old copper, silver and gold mining area built on the side of a mountain. Interesting place......Saturday we'll venture into Sedona, and Sunday down to Montezuma Castle National Monument......they have some Indian cliff dwellings there we'd like to see. Sometime early next week we'll begin to head north towards Page, AZ and Lake Powell.

Have been in Flagstaff the past two days......need to get the VW serviced. Heading up towards Page today.....will only drive as far as Cameron today, then drive over to Grand Canyon in VW Sunday. Then up to Page Monday for a few days of site seeing. The weather here in Flagstaff is decidedly COLD.....got down to 20 degrees both nights......looking forward to lower elevations over the next week.

If you're into turquoise jewelry, there are plenty of roadside vendors in that area that will haggle down to some amazing prices. Also, Vermillion Cliffs & Jacobs lake would be great sight seeing while in the area. But best to do in the tow car due to steep grades & sharp curves. Great views on the trip though.

Since Cameron, AZ we spent a week north of Page, AZ at Lone Rock National Recreation Area (NRA) on the shores of Lake Powell dry camping. Had a wonderful time visiting the nearby sites including several slot canyons, as well as Horseshoe Bend. From there we moved over to Monument Valley for an afternoon, then overnighted in Mexican Hat, then moved over to Bluff, AZ for a day and a night. We visited Valley of the Gods, Goosenecks State Park, and Sand Island.....all very cool places. Then it was on up to a National Forest Campground 8 miles north of Blanding, UT where we spent 5 days. From there we visited Arches NP & Muley Point. Next up was Moab where we met up with David and Denise Zonker as well as Denise's sister Patty, and her husband John. We visited Arches NP and had a wonderful time.
We left Moab last Tuesday and spent the next 5 days moving every day up to Sioux Falls, SD where we find ourselves now. I picked up my new rear bumper from Todd Flickema, as well as a few packages I had shipped to his home including the 5 new red marker lights for the rear of the coach, and new windshield wipers.
Our weather here in Sioux Falls is proof positive you should not move north too fast in the Spring time.....it feels like winter here.....I know Todd would disagree because it's not snowing, and it is above freezing, but for us it is cold, wet and windy! Hopefully the rain will begin to let up tomorrow and I can finish my bumper project.
We leave Sioux Falls on Monday to make our run to Lake Tahoe for the summer......life is good!
