Have you had any issues with your new Refrigerator?  Our's is on its last leg!
And nothing else has to be done, Just plug in and it is ready to go?

Anyone else have any input?

Thanks
Pam

new fridge works perfect. was able to use the 2 bottom brackets that held the old fridge in to hold the new one. If you purchase from best buy ( thats where I got mine) . That amana fridge is extremly heavy compared to the new ones

Old one is out!  Yes it is very heavy!  Looking for a new one now!

Been going over all the information in this post and appreciate Newell Gurus very much. We have the Amana Side by Side also and have worked on it over the years due to a refrigerant leak. When talking to Newell about it they stated we would need a new inverter to put a newer fridge in. Our coach is a 2000. I read one post that mentioned the inverter. Has anyone else replaced their inverter because of a newer refrigerator?

hi,

a few things and then you will have to look at your coach to decide.

the only reason you would possibly want to change inverters to run a modern fridge is if the inverter you have is a modified sine wave one. i had a 99 and i have an 02 and they both came from newell with a prosine pure sine wave inverter. i would be very surprised if you had a modified sine wave one. the inverter will be in the drivers side bay about mid coach and mounted to the wall. the prosine one was yellow and silver. the older xantrex ones they used were a more squareish white one, still mounted on the wall usually.

modified sine wave inverters produce a dirty ac sine wave and can significantly reduce the life of modern motor run appliances.

most of us with coach of that vintage have replaced the amana fridge. it is not terribly hard but takes some work.

it would be nice for us to know your name and it helps to put your coach info and name in the signature that you can do in your user control panel.

The new fridge we installed works perfect off the original invertor in our coach.
