Dear Adrian, Try this; Remove a light and I think you'll find the brackets will mount where the light bolt up. What I was discussing was a new style that would mount the leds directly to the outer trim. The brackets I sent mount where the current lights mount. Install the LEDs into those plates. Then the outer trim just slips down onto the rubber gaskets. Let me know.
Seems like LED conversions are a hot topic. Here is a picture of how I'm going to redo mine using red/white dual revolution lights and a sequential flasher. When i put it in reverse all 16 lights on the back will turn white and shed some light.
Interesting this should come up. I have been planning my tail light upgrade as well. I will post some photos of what my plan is once i start to get things laid out. I am going quite a bit away from the original design all together. I have a couple of aluminum panels I had laser cut for me to use and I will post that info once I verify that they are going to fit well. I had them cut at sendcutsend.com.
I am going to leave this picture here as a teaser:
I got in my tail light panels I had cut and they came out perfect. If anyone wants the info on what I ordered I can pass it along. I cannot guarantee it will fit your coach but you can verify the measurements on your coach before ordering.
Corner radius is an exact match:
Entire panel is an exact match:
Here is the layout I am planning, top three lights will be parking and brake
Bottom three will be parking, turn and they have the back up light integrated:
Now that is cool, both your ideas. I have a cnc laser and can cut 1/8" ABS pretty easy if you need something custom just need a cad file or exact dimensions of what and where you want things cut. Working area 44 x 33.
I ordered two sets of these today https://a.co/d/15MNoPE - arriving Wed at the campground. Jack, I may take you up on your offer and will start constructing a cad file for the covers Danny Goss suggested - not sure if Danny is going to build a cover for the 5x3 lights I ordered (uses the rubber grommet).
Jeff I LOVE that idea using the long slim lights, they will look great - will they end up ‘surface or flush’ mounted?
Can you please send the part numbers you used - I may order them also today… then I have options!

Thanks, they will be surface mount, thought about flush mount but it was going to be too much fabrication and I did not think it would look that much different.
I will look up the lights but I ordered them on E-trailer.
The light with the reverse light is STL264RB and the red one is STL64RB, again this is on Etrailer.com.

Thanks Jack, I may take you up on that offer some day. I will need to do something with the hole once I remove my CRT back up camera monitor.
