Aqua Hot Repair and Beckett Conversion
#11

Jeff,
You do some real nice work love how compact every thing is!

When I did the Beckett mod on 525, I originally used the wiring diagram from the Beckett Mod as posted by Andy & Jean Harmon in the Wanderlodge Group.  In that setup, the switch interrupted the "main" power wire to the Beckett thus cutting power completely to the Beckett and shut the AH down immediately.  More thinking, reading and a few emails to Beckett confirmed the main power must be 12v all the time.  The "enable wire to the Beckett is what needed to be switched.  Once I reconfigured (by adding relays) the wiring I did this "as built" diagram switching the enable circuit off gave me the purge cycle I was looking for in the Beckett controller.  BTW it came from the factory with the proper purge already programed as confirmed with the contractor tool from Beckett....well worth having.

As for replacing components while its apart.  I also installed the Beckett igniter box with new wires from the controller to the igniter probes.  In doing so I found one of the boots internal electrode broken.  The boot screws into the spark plug wire (LEFT tightens & RIGHT loosens) Heat My RV has them in stock if you need one.  Might be worth checking those boots.
