Jim -
Good questions - thanks! I don't know how I might turn off my brake lights (they come on when I press the brake, otherwise off) but I had not considered the Jake. I've attached a photo of the head unit - I would need to crawl around to get to the cpu as I am currently squished into my garage. I spent some time recently at a shop that has a CAT computer and it showed that the CAT cpu was receiving an input that the brakes are on (applied) at all times. The shop didn't want to tear into it and I didn't have time to wait so it remains unresolved.
I should note that the cruise worked until I left her with a shop to track down a J1939 data issue that appeared to be interfering with my transmission. It turned out the real issue was low voltage resulting in issues with the step-up transformer for the transmission and that was resolved with new batteries and a genny service, but I have no idea as to what exactly the shop did in terms of altering the wiring (I was able to diagnose a number of issues it created and resolve them but not the cruise). Rush Truck says they think they can figure it out so I am inclined to take her to them unless anyone has a different suggestion (we are in the Tampa area).
