I need to get under my couch and take a look at mine. I had to disconnect the wires because the squirrel cage fan was locked up and was blowing the fuse at the aqua hot. Wonder if it has any markings on it as to who made it. 
Might also see if you can just find a core that will fit in the existing housing.
