Well Guys,
If one is going to pass muster with the safety folks at a Petro Plants down here, not only will the ladder be 1/4 the height away from the coach but the top of the ladder will be 3 feet above the roof of the coach to give one something to hold onto stepping on and off the ladder.
If you really were on plant property, then when you stepped off the ladder onto an unapproved walkway more than 6 feet above the ground, you would be 100% tied off with a harness but that is another story.
You will find getting the ladder 3 feet above the roof very helpful and I highly recommend one strive to have such a ladder for boarding the roof.
