A few years back I had a bus that had a domestic hot water loop busted from an improper winterizing. The "fix" was to use a good size double wall Flat Plate Heat Exchanger and circulate one of the heating loops at the same time with domestic hot water re-piped through the heat exchanger. It works.
I ordered it from Poland, had it custom made there per specs I had at the time ( trying to remember the calculations) and since I paid for design and shipping I got 2. I still have the second FPHE with a custom resin enclosure ready to mount on top of the stainless box of the Aquahot. That bus was sold with that mod still working.....
If anybody wants it, I can dig it up and take dimensions and pictures. $175 plus shipping gets it.
I have a lot more in it but if it is of use to somebody that does not want to change the tank ( $7k) , repair the loop ( time and $$) or add extra domestic hot water capacity to an existing still working unit, this may be the ticket....
