Whereas NewellGuru rallies are very informal and tend toward pot-luck meals and impromptu technical sessions for do-it-yourselfers, Newell sponsored rallies are structured events with specific planned events, typically with buses chartered to take participants to and from each event. Most meals are included and they are catering to fine dining events and interesting venues, some of which are not available for tours without special arrangements. It is not uncommon for there to be 20-35 Newells at Newell Sponsored Rallies. The majority of the Newells at a Newell sponsored rally will be fairly new but I have attended Newell sponsored rallies in a 15+ year old coach and felt welcome and comfortable. It is not uncommon for Newell to bring service technicians, management and sales staff to the rallies to be of as much assistance to owners as possible. There is no pressure to upgrade at these events. There is frequently a question and answer session about Newell related subjects but the emphasis is on enjoying being together with other Newell owners and having an enjoyable time with good food, drinks, and entertainment. The Newell sponsored rallies I have attended had tours of vineyards, Hearst Castle, museums, shopping trips and music events. Dinners were excellent typically served at four star restaurants. All transportation was included as well as entry fees to the various venues. Newell had a rally in Albuquerque several years ago including a tour of the Unser Racing Museum and I understand that Al Unser Sr. was there to great the Newell group (Sr and Jr have both owned a number of Newells through the years).
I have not attended a Newell sponsored rally in several years (didn't even make the Gurus rally last year unfortunately) so I don't know what the current mix of coaches is. The last Newell sponsored rally was held a couple of months ago at Buckhorn Lake RV Resort in Kerrville, Texas and they had reserved 35 spaces. Newell typically brings a coach to show and offers tours through their coach.
As the time for the next rally gets closer, more information should be available on Newell's website at https://www.newellcoach.com/events-calen...listevents
