Sayed, coach 1229 was the first Newell with the Cat ACERT engine. The next Newell with an ACERT engine was #1251. Following #1251, all Newells with Cat engines used the ACERT engine. ACERT was introduced to meet the EPA 2004 regulations for on-highway trucks. They require ULSD fuel, allow for multiple injections of fuel during each combustion cycle, crossflow cylinder heads, wastegate turbocharger and cool air injection into the combustion chamber per Cat.
Your coach should not have an ACERT engine.
NOTE: THIS INFORMATION IS INCORRECT! SOME NEWELLS AS EARLY AS #801, A 2007, MAY HAVE HAD THE ACERT ENGINE. I will update this thread as I gain more information.
