Great article, I suppose time will tell. It would sure be nice to replace a thousand lbs of battery with the new technology and minimal weight. I didn't notice the cost in the article unless I missed it.
Liberty has been using LIP since Jan 2010 on their Prevost conversions with good success and expect to get 10 yrs service. In that period of time a bus would go through two sets of AGM's, so the unknown is the cost to replace the LIP's.
As this technology improves, the cost will go down. Remember what your cell phone cost in 1988!
