Tom, I have attached a photo of my original thermostat which is in the bedroom, and a photo of Newell's replacement which I recently installed in the living area. Both show the current temperature, and when the up or down button is pushed, you see the set temperature. There is a built in delay with the old one, but not the new one. You may want to go to the newer ones, and Newell's Dwight will help with wiring. Good luck
