Newell Storage
#1

Next Spring we will be heading to Alaska from Yuma AZ and putting our Newell in storage in a building. It will be quite hot through the sumer months but at-least it will be out of the sun. I am wondering if there is any recommendations as what to do to the coach for the storage period. I will disconnect the batteries, not sure if I should drain all the water because public water has some chlorine in it which should help guard against alge growth. I don't think it will be able to be plugged in. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Fill the diesel tanks and include a good fuel conditioner that has a algaecide in it.
Id fill water tank too and dump a bit of bleach in it.
Will rodents be a problem? You might want to put d-con in it.
Also ant bait.

Don't know about the rodent or ant situation but best to prepare for the worst.
Any suggestions on a good algaecide fuel conditioner?
I always have used transmission fluid for my fuel additive but that was for lubricity. Always keep my tanks full when sitting in one place for extended periods.
Thanks.

I use a product called Super Diesel Klenz. I used to broker for Central Petroleum Company and I am familiar with their products. They are an old reputable company who markets mostly to farm and industry.

They have several fuel conditioners for various conditions.

I would blow out the water lines. No need to provide a microbial breeding ground. Block the frig doors open. Double up on rodent traps and poison. Sorry PETA. Fuel additive for algae. Disconnect batteries

Since the humidity is so low I'd leave a couple buckets of water in the kitchen sink and shower. Also maybe put saran wrap on the toilet to keep the water in the bowl from drying out. That might keep the seals from drying out.

There is parking in Tucson where the coach is under a roof - Park-N-Shade. I use Fuel Prep to protect the Diesel fuel from algae.
