Thanks again for all the suggestion's while we were on the side of the road .
Found an Allison dealer in Cut Bank, Mt who is confirming transmission issue.
Got Cliff's towing to load the Coach on his flat bed trailer and haul her 90 miles to the repair dealer.
I drove the Coach on the tilt trailer no problem in reverse.
When I drove off the trailer at repair center forward at 30 degree angle with the engine running and trans in gear  she would barely roll. As soon as turned engine off she rolled right off with gravity, confirming transmission  locked up.
Looks like the Coach will be here for a week or 2 waiting on the rebuild.
Thanks
Jeff

Are you at AL's?? They helped me out years ago when I had issues with a Cat engine while on a rig move. Took me in right away and we were gone next afternoon, with a new turbo and clean CAC. You'll be good.

I had another RV trans go bad and AL's had me out the next day with a rebuilt trans at a fair price.
They are great!

Your 1986 Newell Coach may have a torque converter or internal transmission issue, given it goes into reverse but not forward gears. It also lost transmission fluid, possibly due to overheating or pressure buildup. For service, try Mountain Diesel Service or S & S Diesel & Mechanical Service in Kalispell, MT. For towing, contact Rocky Mountain Towing in Kalispell or Pro-Tow Towing and Recovery in Missoula. An Allison transmission shop is recommended for further diagnosis.
