We arrived to the campground today after a most-exhausting 9-hour drive from TX…
Warnings:
1) there is a BRIDGE OUT on highway 62 - we were heading eastbound from TX. I will upload a map to show good routes from different directions to get here…
2) GOOGLE MAPS will send you to the middle of town if you type in the address - use the name of the RV Park instead and you may survive and make it here…
3) Verizon is a no-go; T-Mobile has about 3 bars (on my Home router); StarLink - we are good to go :-)
4) Prepare for rock/dirt spaces…
It is kinda pretty out here and the drive in was beautiful - wish I had not been so tired. We tried to stop 3 different times at Rest Areas but they were FULL in the middle of the day!
We had a bridge closure going into Kentucky over the Ohio river and had to detour over a 2 lane bridge over the Ohio which made your eyes wide when a simi was coming your way. We were east bound HWY 60 Missouri to Hwy 57 North to Paducah when we got the big flashing signs saying BRIDGE CLOSED TAKE HWY 51 CIRO EXIT my co-pilot app which is real time for big rigs didn't show it! Anyone coming that way beware!
Jack, At least your detour was marked - would have been nice if they had marked it at the main exit rather than all the way down at the river! There was a detour but after talking to some locals we went a different route but had to navigate the world’s steepest/tallest railroad crossing and very narrow roads… in retrospect we should have probably followed the detour signs! Better yet, don’t take the wrong exit… I will get with the owner today and get a good map to the campground. BTW, there were a bunch of Airstreams here for a small rally and the owner of the park said a Dulcimer group would be coming in soon… I may have to take out the guitar…

I went over those two bridges towing my Savoy 5th wheel in 2010. I remember getting a pucker factor when semi's were coming from the other direction.
I've driven that road on Google Earth a few times planning to take Natalie over those bridges. They made an impression on me then that lasts....
