Hi,
I am Tom McCloud and I started and own and operate the forum. I wanted to thank all of you who have been part of it and the life of Darlene and I. I talk to, text, email or chat with at least one of you almost every day and it is always a bright spot.
When we started the group Darlene picked the motto of Friends Helping Friends and that could not be more true. I cannot begin to tell you how many people have been helped by you. From people who were injured and needed a friend, to people broken down to just those that needed to talk to someone. Thank you.
I looked in my phone directory and i had over 120 saved contact numbers of newell friends. and then there are the foretravel and other coach friends.
I keep in touch with the newell factory management and they are appreciative of the help we give each other as well.
we have had so many of you stay at our home and we enjoy it a great deal. i have been able to help alot of you and then in turn be helped in working on our amazing rigs as well.
Darlene and I started NewellGurus in 2012 and the time has flown by. I often get asked if folks can contribute to the operating costs and the answer is NO. I have never and will never ask for a single cent from any of you. Our son Scott handles the server work and I and my amazing fellow admins and moderators take care of the rest.
I have often heard that NewellGurus is one of the most pleasant and nice forums people have used. We watch closely and do not allow any contension or harsh words.
You'all are amazing and we appreciate your friendship and support.
Thanks again
Tom

Fantastic job to you, Tom. And a thank you to the Admins and this community to be, as you say, probably the best and most civil forum I’ve ever participated in my nearly 40 years of “online” forum experience!!
THANK YOU!!

Tom, thanks so much for providing the place for all this knowledge to be shared. As you mentioned there are lots of great helpful folks here. This and the Wanderlodge forum are a daily check for me. I try to help others when I can.

Don’t panic, I am not about to break out in a lounge singer’s version of “Feelings”. Instead file this away as a moment to celebrate what is right in life, instead of our usual focus on what is wrong.
For me, the forum is an inspirational example of what leadership looks like. Many of you don’t know the story of how it originated, but let’s just say that Tom saw the need. And when he saw the need he took action. Since that time he has demonstrated a decorum that is extremely rare on the internet. He provides leadership through example on how to treat each other with respect, how to help when you can, and how to provide support with zero expectations of financial return. I have profited immensely from his leadership. I have made MANY friendships that would have never happened except through meeting you personally. Some of those friendships are approaching 20 years in duration. That leadership also gave me an outlet to pay back just a little of the good fortune I have been blessed with. I spent a lifetime fine tuning engineering skills that all of a sudden had no outlet when I retired. Tom showed me that I could use those skills to help others.
And, finally, although I was blessed with mechanical intuition, I was not blessed with social skills. When I find myself in a tricky situation, I sometimes ask myself how would Tom handle this?
All this leadership is by example, not by instruction. I am far richer for the experience.
Thanks Buddy!

Tom,
We had been researching for a safe, secure and quality RV for some time.....Prevost came to the top from every angle....we were looking for our "last coach first". The standard question for us became how are we going to use the coach? Life's challenges always seemed to be taking priority till we came to a point some five and a half years ago someone recommended taking a look at the Newell coach. The first search popped the "Newell Guru's" forum at the top of the list. With some intense reading, Richard and Rhonda was very active in the Gurus, who lived close to us and a couple of conversations latter they graciously invited us to view their coach....the rest is history. Having said all this to get to my point. Tom, Darlene and Scott, you all have brought together one of the finest group of people with a common interest that otherwise would be a floundering ship in the night without this forum. The immense knowledge base here is something to be admired, you guys are the torch bearer for the Newell brand! From Doris & I, we want to thank you for the time you all have put into this forum which makes owning a Newell a pleasurable experience.

I don't know what else I can say that hasn't been said already. I'm very glad I've met a few Gurus and look forward to meeting more. We all have many other things in common than our coaches. Thank You Richard for providing those words at one of your get togethers!
I haven't met Tom in person yet. I have family out in the Phoenix area and I look forward to meeting you two when we finally get out there again.
This team and the entire team of Guru's has been a Godsend for me.
Thank you all!

I agree with all that has been said so far . This forum is unique, I have not seen it's equal .
I would add that I would likely have given up on the '86 if not for this forum . Every challenge I have come up against has already been faced by a Guru at some point , and the information gained by their experience has been invaluable.
Thank you for starting and maintaining the forum at such a high level of integrity and decorum .
