Window Fogging Solutions

Dual pane window fogging. Coach #1618, 2018 p50

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions with window fogging.  Initially I thought there was 1-2 windows starting to fog.  Coach recently had window tint put on it all the way around.  The window film seems to magnify some window issues.  Currently have 7 windows with issues, 2 front sides, 2 mid size, 2 smaller and starting of one large window.  The mid size seem to show it daily now the others hit or miss sometimes goes a few days or longer without visibility.

There are 3 vendors I am familiar with in FL that take the windows apart, clean and reseal the dual panes.  2 of which I have eliminated from reviews and feedback in other forums.  Clearwater Motorcoaches has experience with Newells in service and familiar with product.  They offer window defogging and leaning heavily towards using them.  I felt the owner was honest and down to earth when I looked at a consignment Newell a while back there.  They need the coach 1-2 weeks will keep in shop and prefer drop off.  Price depends on size and such said the most they recall was $900 per window, most would be maybe half, front windows were $2200-$2500 each for replacement.

It was discussed with Newell service their protocol is to replace windows.  It is a lippert product which is a brand I cannot stand.  Furthermore, while in service there was a coached that was delivered in the last year getting windows replaced under warranty due to seal failure.  If new windows are purchased warranty is only 1 year.  I cannot see spending for that unless listing coach which we do not plan to do anytime soon.  I do not have confidence that a new window would hold up.  They mentioned a vendor that could repair but it was a franchise company and mixed to poor reviews online.  They were not familiar with Clearwater but they are well known within Prevost community and owner is very familiar with Newell.

Not trying to rock the boat or start a debate.  Leaning towards letting Clearwater Motorcoach do the repairs not sure of a better option or solution to the problem.  Located in the SE US, open to any options basically Texas east...any thoughts or experience is appreciated- I did not see much with searches

Hi,
Forgive the bad pics. Auto Glass Boss was recommended by Kris Jones of Precision Coach Works in Zephyrhills, Fl.

Kris liked them better than a place in Hudson, Fl, when ut came to Newells.

Good luck and post the results when you get them done.

Auto Boss has quite the "spicey" debates and reviews. He's not your typical, everyday kinda guy. He's good, and he knows it...and has had some run-ins with being overbooked and not showing up. This has created a lot of bad will and distrust. Not long ago, he didn't show up...disappeared, in fact. Finally, his office girl made a call and said he was arrested in Europe; so they'll fly their #2 man out to complete the job.

So, even though he's done good work, including for me...you need to proceed with caution.

There ARE some folks talked about on the east coast, including the Motorcoach Store, who I heard is supposedly starting window replacements.

But, yeah, Newell isn't a good option. BTW...they told me it's only a 90 day warranty!

SunCoast Designers, in Florida, is one that the Fakebook VIP group talks about.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Guys,

Auto Glass Boss was on radar but had recent bad reviews during last 18 months, had crossed them off
Sun Coast Designers had a good reputation, but same issues bad recent reviews lack of communications citing too big now etc, had crossed them off also

Coach was purchased used through Newell, window warrant on used ones is 90 days, they said if I replaced through service vender has a 1 year warranty on new windows which did not seem like much
A coach delivered in the last 6 months was getting windows replaced under warranty, so gave little faith in purchase of new windows

Hard pass on MC Store, dealt w them when looking and walked away
When in service recently there were 4 coaches MC store sold in last 6 months getting moderate to significant issues fixed, 2 of the others I spoke with volunteered bills were about $30k and would not purchase from MC store again...

If it helps at all, I dealt with Richard at Clearwater Motorcoach as he made the transition from USA Coach to his own business, Clearwater Motorcoach. He was always up front and dependable with what he told me. I would do business with him in the future.

Thanks for the input- That was my gut feeling from meeting him and viewing consignment coach, I think the prevo guys like him, he seemed straight forward and honest.  Thats the direction I am leaning.  Appreciate the response

I talked to Richard Simpson (727-420-9871) this morning. He's left Clearwater Motorcoach and is now doing traveling repair and comes to you. He is still doing Prevost and Newell repair but not resealing glass. He is sharp and has helped me countless times. Give him a call.

I apologize for incorrect info I passed along. I had not heard/realized that Richard was not with Clearwater Motorcoach. He is as Steve said, very sharp. I thought CwM was his own personal business after he left/was forced out of USA Coach (which went downhill immediately after his leaving and is now completely closed with lawsuits against them waiting for payment).

I don't know if Austin (who was Richard's "sidekick") or any of the other fellows are still at CwM. It may be worth a phone call to Richard to explore options.

Hi,
No new options here, just my opinion about Suncoast designers. C- .   Windows stayed clear for 10 years and counting. 3 out of 13 windows were damaged. They were sliding windows, but Suncoast damaged the frame. They took 2 weeks plus to do the work when we were told 4 days.

My current coach, 1261, has foggy windows. Kris Jones recommended Auto Glass Boss. I was going to check them out this winter. Kris' recommendation means a lot to me. I was still going to check them out before using (trust but verify).

I hope it all works out. Let us know your experience.
