Generator oil
#1

I have a 2008 Newell coach #1230. What should the oil level read and what type of oil do you use for your generator? Going to be running it for 5 - 6 days and I want to make sure I don’t blow it up lol.
Thank you,
James Caylor

I run Central Petroleum Company’s S3 CF 10w30 in my Martin generator with turbocharged Yanmar engine. I fill it to the full line on the dipstick. You should have documents with your Newell that specifies the correct oil for your rig. Be sure to change oil filter as well.

I use 15W-40 same as in the Cummins engine.
The Yanmar TNV manual specifies:
10W-30 good between -4F to +86F
15W-40 between about +5F to +100F
20 +32F to +68F
30 +50F to +86F
40 +68F to +104F
