I would be concerned about rusty water coming out.

You should track down that rusty water and get that corrected before it becomes a bigger problem.

The first time I drained it mine was rusty and the more often i drained it the clearer it got and this was done from the petcock at the bottom of the tank in the compressor bay

I changed out the little separator on mine to one I got from an auto parts place that I could attach a plastic hose to and just run the hose out the bay when I drain it.

I would normally open that small valve screw under the tank in front bay above the 110 compressor and using small plastic cup I drain it every two months or so , get about half of cup of latte color like water!
