Is there a reason this wouldn’t work for us. wouldn’t it be quieter?

A fridge compressors CFM is very low. I don’t think it would keep up with demand.

The Jun-Air supplied with my coach is so quiet I cannot hear it running. If I am outside I do hear the end of a run when the water separator exhausts. I installed an hour meter just to keep track of running hours and to determine if/when I have a leak that is causing extra run time. I has performed flawlessly for nearly 8 years now.

This may sound strange, but... I have the Thomas compressor and quite satisfied. It is comforting to know that I can purchase a new one under $400 and a rebuilt under $300. As for the noise, I can hear it inside when it runs but it is not obnoxious unless i have an issue and it is running every 5 minutes, to which I want to know about issues, and get them fixed. Same for my water pump. I can hear it inside if you know what to listen for. From my boating years, I learned to identify sounds and issues (like dragging anchor at night) and like to be able to hear mechanical systems occasionally to know whether they are operating correctly or not sooner rather than later.

What part number do you have for your compressor?
