Gas spring tool

Sounds great. I'll want to see it. On my pipe clamps I would have to grind one end thinner to fit on the gas spring on the inside of the mount. Is yours going to have to be thinned down on the one end?

Can’t believe I didn’t post this - for the engine bay doors 
Notice the intentions for the spring head to fit in - I think I used a half inch drill bit and the upper/outer holes did the job

i just recently changed them on my 99. i just used a ratchet strap and it was super easy

The one I made is just a Harbor Freight clamp (cheap) and drill about 1/8” holes to accept the spring. The one Steve Bare made you would need to ask him about but I’m thinking I may try my *new* welding skills out and make some! Steve’s is probably easier to use than mine…
