As with anything mechanical, a new noise can't be good news.

At engine shut down on Friday all noises were normal. At engine start up on Saturday, a strange new noise coming from the center console. Sounds like a fan or fan belt going bad but revs up & down with engine and sounds as if from a speaker, sounds as if coming from just under radio and above rear view monitor. Checked back at engine, checked that radio is off, checked that the ac fan was off, checked the outside front compartments and underneath, checked center speaker. Nada!

What else is in the console that could make that noise?

Any thoughts, suggestions?

does the rear camera monitor have sound in it? could it be you turned the sound on somehow for it catching the engine noise?

Got it in one!!!!!!!

Don't know how the sound got turned up, but it was all the way up! Don't remember doing anything in that general area but who knows!

By the by, why does the rear view monitor have sound let alone a microphone?
