More than likely you'll have to cut the wires and put some kind of connector, that way in the future you can just unplug them.

I had my shade motor running continuously in the kitchen. It is easy to drop down and recalibrate with 2 people. Run it up and when you want it to stop press the white/yellow button. Run it down and when it gets to the bottom of the window press the black button. You are all done with the calibration.
