74 coach questions
#1

Hello,
We recently came accross a 74 coach and fell in love with her, although a little tattered and torn she is absolutely gorgeous and we are excited to get her cleaned up and on the road. Unfortunately the  previous owner does not have the title, she had owned the coach for many years while traveling the cuntry durring retirement and claims that she had never had a title and that titles wer not issued on the older Newells, is this true and if so how do we go about registering our coach.

Thanks, any info would be much appreciated!

If you can call Newell and get a build sheet that shows the VIN and a bill of sale from whomever you bought it from, you should have all the info you need to register and title it in your state.
You might have to do what's called a Title search and wait 30 days while the "system" checks the VIN number and verifies it isn't stolen or otherwise wanted. once that's done its just a normal DMV transaction.
On things I've bought without title before depending on the state and the age you may not have to do that.

Yes, several states do not issue title for vehicles beyond a certain age. The registration is all they use. A quick call to the seller’s state vehicle division will confirm that. Call your local division to ensure you get the right paperwork from the seller to keep your local folks happy.

As Carl has said, covering your own backside verifying it’s not listed as stolen would also be prudent.
