I just bought and received a bunch of additional parts from Newell, airbags, ride-height control valves, ready to bring them to the repair shop for the 2nd repair work on my 701.
However, Newell is out of stock on one line of items that I had ordered, quantity 3 of part# NC 23730, Linkage, for Ride Height Control Valves.
This linkage connects to the arm of the height control valve. Because Newell doesn't have this in stock, I have to shop around or have to re-use the old parts. Newell says they won't have it until sometime in September, which is 2 or more months' lead time.
The problem with re-using old parts is that there is one little rubber grommet bushing that comes with the linkage part. The linkage connects to the arm of the ride height control valve.
The repair shop said it was this little rubber grommet bushing that had failed. That was the culprit for the saga I had experienced several weeks ago, the 701 had to be towed back to the repair shop, only drive 3 or 4 miles away after the 1st repair was done. The shop's finding is contrary to what the tow truck driver's finding it was the ride height control rod being loose or unsecured. So I really don't know what exactly the cause of failure.
The saga was posted here and here.
I would like to get comments or ideas, on where to purchase this, rubber grommet bushing for the linkage to the ride-height control valve. Newell doesn't have the NC 23730 (linkage), or rubber grommet bushing available at this time.
