2005 airbag numbers, any recognize?
#11

Thanks Tom for the info. I kinda figured it was policy since they want to sell parts. When I get to a point of pulling the bags off and find any part numbers I will post for others to use.

I could just pay the piper and move on, either way I'll end up with them so they will get posted for future use.

Was there any definite result from this?

I am curious anyone can correlate those Newell part numbers with Firestone, Goodyear, or some other manufacturer.

The airbag (or air springs) part numbers for ZF suspension have been described in this thread:

For what it is worth, here are some pics of my drive and steer axle bags.  Not too happy with Newell on this one.  I spent a fortune on overnighting these when I could get them two miles up the road.  I gave them these numbers and they would not confirm they were the right ones.

An adapter fitting is needed for the fronts because the threads are a smaller diameter.

now others know for your year, so that is great. that has been our challenge. they didnt keep track of what airbags are on our coaches and always say take one off and look at it.

the goodyear 1r11-066 is a common bag.

thanks for posting the info

Thank you very much for the photos and part#
But please allow me 2 questions,
(1) The Good Year Part# 1R11-066 substitute = Newell Part# ?
(2) describe the fitting and part# or link to buy the fitting?

For me, coach 701,

for Front Axles: 2x Contitech 876N = Newell Part# 700160,  $320/each @ Newell
for Drive Axles: 4x Contitech 782N (782NP04, Contitech order# 74340,  currently n/a @ Newell, can use a substitute NC#708440 - $678.60/each
for Rear Tax Axles:  2x Contitech 661N = Newell Part#  707750 = $520/each @ Newell

It would be great if I can find a generic substitute.

Joe, totally different airbags on the ZF suspension coaches than the previous generations so the bags David posted are not like yours at all.

Joe,

Here's a partial cross reference for your bags.

Front: http://www.airtechairsprings.com/en/sayf...er&tp=urun or: https://www.suspensionairspring.com/sale...6-816.html

Drive: https://www.suspensionairspring.com/sale...03904.html

Tag: https://www.suspensionairspring.com/qual...-100112250 or: https://www.airspringsbook.com/en-US/Pro...i6q/661n/1

The last website (the airspringbook site) is a pretty good cross reference site to get various manufacturer numbers from.

Hey Kaptain,

Below is what Morgan from Newell sent, but he wouldn't actually send the parts until my tech pulled the bags and took pics.  A big waist of time and my money since we had already provided the correct numbers, but...

You can see in my pic the Newell part number for the steer axle but not the drive axle so I cannot verify that at the moment.  Maybe it is on my invoice which is not handy at the moment.

Steer Axle (NC#712040)- The top plate would have 4 male studs with nuts on them. The air inlet is also on the top plate with about a ¾ inch female hole. The Bottom plate should have 4 female holes with bolts in the (only bolt head visible) $288.99 ea

Drive Axle (NC#16226) – The top plate should have 2 male studs with nuts on them. The air inlet is also located on the Top with an approx. 1” female inlet. The Bottom Plate should have 1 male stud with a nut on it. $310.99ea

Tag Axle (NC#19216) – The Top plate should have 2 male studs with nuts on them. One of the male studs on top is hollow and serves as the air inlet, so there should be a hose running to that. The Bottom plate should have 2 male studs with nuts on them. $259.99ea

I am also of little help with the fitting.  I came up with OHI 0,75 (3/4") Male JIC x .25 (1/4") Male NPT straight, but because the tech sourced to part locally himself I cannot verify that this is what was used.
