I don't think Newell installed pull chain drain valves on their coaches even in 1998 unless someone has added them later.
I put them on my front air brake tanks and ran them into the first compartment on the passenger side. On the rear wet tank I used to have a pull chain type drain valve exiting between the drive and tag axle tires but last summer I ran DOT rated hose from the tank to a DOT rated valve inside the engine compartment with a section of clear tubing extending down so I can have it clear the coach when I open the valve. Works great.
