Interesting theory Gordon. On my '99 Foretravel idle speed was adjusted using the cruise control buttons. This was a Cummins ISM with same Allison 6 speed.

Checked out our coach this morning....I do not have a pot visible anywhere in the 12v circuit distribution area....so poof goes my theory!

I like your theory on the fuel gauges. Mine are completely inaccurate. I haven't taken any ohm readings. The large tank sender has been replaced at one point. I treat my gauges like the show "Riptide" where I need to knuckle the dash to get the needles to set to their positions for a reading!
I'll start the coach and finely tune it to see what changes later this week.
