8v92 oil pan
#1

I will eventually make my way to the engine area for some de-greasification and sealification. (I should put those in the dictionary for new words of 2021) I came across this deep oil pan on ebay. is it worth the time to swap my standard pan for this?

Would that pan would hang down even lower than the stock pan? If so, I would say no. There is already a lot of oil in that engine - not sure what a larger pan would buy other than more volume. Are there circumstances that would warrant a larger pan? I can’t recall how much oil our 8v92 held but it was a LOT…

Mine holds 8 gallons plus a few more in the auto oiler (that I can add to the engine when needed)
I definitely would not want my oil pan hanging any lower - too easy for it to drag & get damaged.
