Bob, Pro Driver provides a variety of statistics. When it showed 7.9 MPG, what average speed did it show. Just curious.

After 16k miles my average is 6.0. So much for more fuel efficient motors. I do weigh I bit over 60k lbs.

We got 7.05 mpg on our last 1000 mile fill up. 1/2 towing Fran's XL7 Suzuki and 1/2 towing my F-350 crewcab 4x4. Albuquerque to Deming, back to Albuquerque, then Deming and on to Eloy, AZ. Head winds most of the way. Average speed around 67 mph. That's with the new 8V92.

There has been considerable discussion on this forum regarding MPG. I downloaded my Pro-Driver which covers 2014 and 2015. Overall. called "TRIP", I traveled 16,703 miles, burned 2,584 gallons, and averaged 6.46 MPG. "IN DRIVE", 2,476 gallons with an average of 6.75 MPG. In "TOP GEAR", 14,720 miles, 1,986 gallons, and 7.41 MPG. Pro-Driver has a statistic named "CRUISE" (I do not know what this entails) which shows 12,035 miles, 1,993 gallons and 7.11 MPG. I was in "IDLE" 22% of the time. My average speed for the two years was 56 MPH. I pull a Honda Odyssey.
I thought this information may be of interest, and also to point out that one needs to define which category is being used to quote MPG since there are at least four.
